Synterra, Ltd. is responsible for a significant portion of the construction
management for the Market Street Elevated Reconstruction Project.
This $370 million dollar reconstruction will dramatically change the look
of West Philadelphia. It includes replacing 11,000 ft of El support structure,
renovating six stations, constructing two new substations, and other related
improvements.
Building Community Consensus
and Providing Opportunity.
As part of the Program Management Team, Synterra, Ltd. is responsible
for coordinating the local stakeholders, community and business needs
as well as mitigating the concerns from the residents resulting from this
project in their West Philadelphia Community. Additionally, our involvement
in the affirmative action coordination will ensure that residents of West
Philadelphia and local contractors are given the opportunity to participate
in the large amount of construction work resulting from this project.
Synterra, Ltd. also facilitated the coordination of an apprenticeship
program for community residents. As part of the Program Management Team,
Synterra, Ltd. assisted engineers, planners, and construction firms in
coordinating their efforts to ease the impact on the community and the
business.
This reconstruction project will improve traffic flow, increase handicapped
access into the elevated stations, improve the pedestrian experience and
improve the look of Market Street resulting in a more aesthetically pleasing
Market Street that is both residential- and consumer-friendly.
