Synterra, Ltd. provided comprehensive services including site/ landscape design, construction documentation and construction observation for Pumphouse Plaza.

Sited on the Hudson River along the northern portion of Battery Park City, this urban open space serves as a focal point for the waterfront promenade and is adjacent to six million square feet of prime commercial development.

Owned and operated by the Port Authority, Pumphouse Plaza functions as the underground water pumping station for the World Trade Center in New York City.

In 1985, this plaza was recognized by a national design panel as one of the most significant new open space projects constructed in New York City.
