Synterra, Ltd. was responsible for the complete site and landscape design for the renovation of the Camden waterfront's Royal Court Townhouse Complex in New Jersey.

Located across the Delaware River from Philadelphia, Camden has long been eyed by developers waiting for the proper economic and public environment to make it a place of pride for New Jersey. At Synterra, we believe that it is our responsibility to help support projects that affect real people -- resulting in a catalyzing force for change.

Synterra's involvement with the Homeowner's Association and public agencies personnel helped reinvigorate this stagnant complex where only 16 of 93 existing townhouses were occupied -- a stunning fact considering the property is part of an urban downtown waterfront.

Our design and management team tapped residential input immediately through workshops with owners, neighborhood children and residents. In doing so, the complex became a project that united the local government, the residents and the local building community.

The resulting renovations have increased property values, bolstered sales and infused the community with pride. We hope the project will act as a model for what modest design renovations can achieve -- especially when all affected parties are at the planning table.
